Abstract

The author discusses the Lusofrancophone Health Conference (COLUFRAS) focusing on the International Colloquium promoted by it together with the Institute of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine of the New University of Lisbon in 2017, with the objective of discussing the problems of the impacts of traffic accidents on health and, in particular, the strategies used to deal with the problem. In order to do so, it is a synthesis of the approach of the different speakers who explained how their countries have behaved in the face of such challenges, the results and objectives achieved, highlighting the aspects related to communication because of its relevance in the possibility of producing impacts positive results on the effectiveness of government actions and on citizens' awareness of the importance of combating situations that generate traffic insecurity.
